raw chocolate avocado pudding parfait

Thanks to all the incredible folks that drank from the Caboose this wonderfully sunny long weekend at the Harmony Arts Festival in West Vancouver.  What an awesome event that I'm almost positive you will find us at again next year!  The festival is still running daily this week until Sunday so if you missed out you still have a chance to check out the fabulous artisans and music that is on display.  If you are looking for refreshing beverages you will have to go elsewhere though!  Juice Caboose is back on the road this week.  Check out our 2012 schedule page, the Juice Caboose Facebook Page of events or better yet get the free Street Food App for this weeks details!

After an awesome and exhausting weekend, I've headed straight into the test kitchen.  My 5 year old and main taste tester approved of our breakfast this morning:  Raw Chocolate Avocado Pudding Parfait.  YUM!  We parfaited it with some raw Kaia Chocolate Buckwheat Granola and Bananas.  If you are interested in trying some of the Kaia products which I really enjoy, I can just munch on the granola by itself, you can find them at Whole Foods in the snacky snacky isle.  And speaking of Whole Foods (cheesy segway!) Juice Caboose will be there this Saturday at the Park Royal location in West Vancouver and it is my strong wish and hope there will be free sampling of a potential new menu item for the Caboose.  So please come, if not to sample some free yummies, to at least keep yourself hydrated in all this awesome sun and summer we are so blessed to be having!

friday night market - shipbuilders plaza north vancouver

Super excited for tonight!  The North Shore Green Markets Friday Night Market at the Shipbuilders Plaza opens up tonight for the summer.  I've heard rave reviews about this night market from so many sources, I'm super excited to be included.  There is a great list of food trucks that will be there tonight plus artisans, vendors and live music!  I believe this will be the reliable, go-to Friday night event of the summer, and wouldn't you know there's great weather for it in our immediate future.  I really hope to see you there!  Support everything awesome and local about Vancouver at this great market!

ambleside market

Sunday's from 10-3 is the Ambleside Farmer's Market in West Vancouver.  It's just around the corner from Ambleside beach and is located at Bellevue and 13th, behind the Police Station.  Juice Caboose will mostly be there rotating Sunday's with Kits on alternates.  For the most part!  Please check our schedule link for updates.  I've booked a couple of events that will be affecting Sunday's this summer.  The main things to remember about Ambleside Market is - awesome market and next to the beach.  Let me repeat - NEXT TO THE BEACH!  Make a day of it.  I know I would.  I specifically chose this market for it's closeness TO THE BEACH!  What goes better with the beach than fresh juices and delicious smoothies?

Exactly!

more market openings

Main Street Market opens up today!  It's my favourite market, visually.  The old train station in the back and park in the front.  It's like a mullet - business on top and party in the back.  We're excited to make this one of our regular markets this summer.  We will be at Main Street almost every other week into the fall.

Tomorrow is also the opening market for the Royal City Farmer's Market in New Westminster.  Looking forward to our first day there.  I've never been to that market as a customer or vendor so I'm a little nervous and excited balled into one.  It has an awesome list of vendors, so I know we're in good company and assuming it's a great market to be at.

Hope to juice for your there!

juice caboose at whole foods park royal

Two good reasons to come out:

1.  All the money from sales is going to a non profit organization where all administrative fees are paid by the corporation of Whole Foods not the non profit Whole Planet Foundation and therefore 100% of money raised goes to alleviating poverty and continues to alleviate poverty.

2.  Whole Foods is taking a chance on a awesome local company that is strongly committed to the environment, community, small businesses and women!

The goodness that goes around comes around!

Come drink some juice or smoothies on Saturday March 10th and 24th from 12 - 4 pm at Whole Foods Park Royal.

whole planet foundation

Juice Caboose will be at the Whole Foods Park Royal Store Saturday March 10th and 24th from 12-4 pm serving up delicious fresh pressed juices and smoothies with 100% of the proceeds going to the Whole Planet Foundation.

Whole Planet Foundation is a cause that the Juice Caboose is very proud to be supporting.  Whole Planet Foundation's mission is poverty alleviation in developing-world communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.  Through microcredit loans, they seek to unleash the energy and creativity of every human being they work with in order to create wealth and prosperity in emerging economies.  Most of the clients are women and there is a 97% repayment rate.

As a mama, woman and entrepreneur I support this cause 100%.  Every single penny raised goes into microcredit loans and stays in the loans.  All administrative costs of running the foundation are paid out by Whole Foods Market.  All money raised for the Foundation goes into the loans and continues to finance the loans.

We hope to see you there.  We will be trying out some new smoothie concoctions!  Come and try them out and support a great cause!
