"Let food by thy medicine, thy medicine shall be thy food" ~ Hippocrates
Hello there and Welcome to the Juice Caboose. My name is Suzanne. The Juice Caboose, the Enchanted Chameleon, a 5 year old spitfire little boy and a 2 year old blonde bulldog-beagle are my babies. Sometimes I find time to clean and knit in between all of that. On this blog you can expect to find juice and smoothie recipes, updated schedules for the Caboose, fun photos and memories from events I attend, occasional giveaways (ya!) and random tid-bits that feed my passion for organic, local, seasonal fruits and vegetables and anything else delicious and nutritious!
I'm pretty proud to be living my dreams. I had no idea that being a raw foods chef and juice and smoothie maker extraordinaire was my dream but I like how life unfolds like that. After doing raw foods every which way: the right way, the wrong way, the over fed, the under nourished, I found that my most favourite thing about raw foods is the juices and the smoothies. I once came across a tiny little juice cart in the UK off the back of a Vespa pick up and from there, combined with my love of Green Smoothies, my dream to own my own and make the world, or at least Vancouver a little bit healthier, was born. Finally after 3 years of dreaming, planning, plotting and then actually building, the Juice Caboose opened in May 2011 at the Maplewood Farm Sheep Festival. One of my favourite places to be is in front of the juicer and blender surrounded by steel, chopping up fruit and making taste buds sing.
If you want to know more about me personally, you can check out my lifestyle blog at Enchanted Chameleon. I originally started blogging as a way to to keep myself accountable when I went on a raw foods challenge. I have suffered with many types of food intolerances and allergies most of my life and found a lot of healing when I went raw. Although I'm not a practicing raw foodist now, nothing rejuvenates like a fresh blended cup of Green Smoothie. When I started blogging I in turn discovered the blogging community and many blogs that I still read and draw inspiration from to this day. My other passions include homeschooling, sewing, crafting, homesteading, gluten free living, parenting, knitting and discovering myself over and over.
I believe in making life a little bit healthier, one small achievable step at a time. I hope to inspire you to do the same.
XO. Juicy Suzy
